red feels like the perfect ending to the trilogy. after blue isolates and white tries to settle the score, red is about the invisible ways we find each other. i loved how irène jacob’s character carries so much warmth into a story filled with loneliness. the relationship between her and the judge is so strange yet beautiful, two people from completely different places in life slowly becoming mirrors of each other. and all the coincidences throughout the film make it feel like everyone is connected by these tiny invisible threads, constantly almost meeting, almost loving, almost understanding one another and then that ending… seeing the trilogy come together made me realize these movies were never really separate at all. maybe fraternity isn’t simply being close to someone, but recognizing yourself in a stranger and choosing to care anyway
