Whit Stillman (“Metropolitan”) hadn’t made a film since 1998, and when he finally came back thirteen years later, he brought Greta Gerwig with him. This time a group of college girls run their campus suicide prevention centre with the help of doughnuts, soap and tap-dancing lessons.
Lily transfers to Seven Oaks and is immediately taken under the wing of Violet, Heather and Rose, who run the college’s suicide prevention centre. They take on the fraternity boys too, since nobody else is going to bother with them. And Violet has a far grander plan in mind: she intends to invent a new dance.
