Altman asked an actor who had never written for the cinema to write the script, and Fellowes won an Oscar, then created “Downton Abbey”. Helen Mirren leads an all-star cast of guests and servants in a country house where everyone wants something from the host, and below stairs every word is heard.
In November 1932, Sir William McCordle gathers family and friends at his English country estate for a weekend’s shooting. Some are in his good books and some aren’t, but every one of them wants something from him, and the question is how far they’re prepared to go to get it. The servants hear every word. Then a body turns up in the house.
