Why we chose it

Audrey Tautou, a few years on from “Amélie”, is a woman who only goes for rich men in this take on “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” set on the French Riviera. A hotel barman lets her think he’s one of them, and once she has seen through him, he asks her to teach him the trade.

Synopsis

One evening at the luxury hotel in Biarritz where Jean works behind the bar, Irène mistakes him for a guest, and he doesn’t correct her. When she returns a year later on the arm of an older, much wealthier man, she recognises him. By then he has already spent every penny he had on her.
