Why we chose it

Yorgos Lanthimos (“Poor Things”) reworks a tragedy by Euripides into the story of a boy who works his way into an American heart surgeon’s family to settle a score, and who will take nothing but a death for a death. Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman star opposite an icy Barry Keoghan.

Synopsis

Sixteen-year-old Martin lost his father on the operating table of heart surgeon Steven Murphy. Now Steven meets the boy at a diner and eventually introduces him to his wife, Anna, and their children, Kim and Bob. Martin returns the favour with dinner at his home, where his mother tries to seduce Steven, and Steven starts to keep his distance. Then one morning Bob wakes up and can’t move his legs.
