Eye-opening

Raoul Peck spent ten years turning thirty pages by James Baldwin into a film about three murdered men, Evers, Malcolm X and King. Every word Samuel L. Jackson reads belongs to the writer, and the problem is that not one of them has gone out of date.
James Baldwin once wrote to his agent about a book he planned on three men he had known and outlived, Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, all of whom were murdered. The film is built from his notes and letters, together with newsreels, Hollywood clips and old photographs. When Baldwin died, the book still stood at thirty pages.
