Sandra Hüller and Franz Rogowski work the aisles of a vast wholesale store where forklifts waltz to Johann Strauss’s “The Blue Danube”, proof that magic can hide on the most ordinary shelves. You’ll almost wish you could join them on the night shift.
On the night shift at a wholesale store somewhere in eastern Germany, Christian is assigned to the drinks section, where Bruno, who has worked in the warehouse for years, teaches him to drive a forklift. Marion works over in confectionery. She’s married, though, so the others tell Christian to forget about her.
