Why we chose it
Terrence Malick, cinema’s poet, turns Los Angeles into a city of endless drift, all parties, pools, hotel corridors and affairs, in a beautiful film with Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Natalie Portman. Half the audience can’t stand it and the other half adores it, so see which half you’re in.
Synopsis
Rick writes screenplays in Los Angeles, though he stopped remembering why a long time ago, and his life slips past like a dream through parties, Las Vegas, a film set and his father’s apartment. He talks to one woman after another, first his ex-wife and then a married woman who wants something more from him. None of them keeps him for long.
