Peeping Tom

Why we chose it

Michael Powell (“The Red Shoes”) made this cult thriller about a killer of women long before audiences were ready for it, and the critics tore it apart until, years later, Martin Scorsese brought it back. It still asks the same question: why are you having such a good time watching from the shadows?

Synopsis

Mark Lewis grew up as his own father’s guinea pig in experiments on how fear affects the nervous system. Orphaned and now grown up, he works at a film studio and earns extra money as a photographer, which means his days are spent taking pictures of young women. In the evenings he turns the same camera on them as they die.
