Tilda Swinton and Michael Shannon sing in a post-apocalyptic bunker, where a wealthy family living in a salt mine has kept hosting dinners for over twenty years, though nothing is left on the surface. Documentary maker Joshua Oppenheimer drew this fiction from an oligarch buying a luxury shelter.
A quarter of a century after the Earth’s surface became uninhabitable, a rich family lives in a salt mine. The father made his fortune in oil, the mother hangs paintings by famous artists on the walls, and together they run emergency drills. Their son, born underground, builds models of a world he has never seen.
