Why we chose it

Based on Fredrik Backman’s bestseller, this twice Oscar-nominated comedy follows a grumpy man who has had enough of living, only for his neighbours to keep getting in the way of his grim plans. In 2022 it was remade with Tom Hanks, and Ove became Otto.

Synopsis

Ove is almost sixty. Six months after burying his wife, he’s told to leave the railway after forty-three years, and now he fills his days telling people off for parking in the wrong place. One day he decides to join his late wife, Sonja, just as a family moves in across the street and the new neighbour refuses to leave him in peace.
