Why we chose it

Abel Ferrara won’t allow his hero a single mitigating circumstance, and Harvey Keitel plays him as a New York lieutenant who is high on cocaine, corrupt, addicted and utterly ruthless. You can’t like him, but you can’t take your eyes off him either.

Synopsis

After dropping his kids at school, a New York police lieutenant takes cocaine on the way to a double murder scene, where he will soon help himself to something. He sells whatever his badge can get him and takes what he likes from anyone who can’t refuse. That’s how it goes until a nun is raped in a church and tells the police she forgives the men who did it.
