Todd Haynes (“Carol”) tells the true story of chemical companies poisoning the environment, with Mark Ruffalo as the Cincinnati lawyer who took DuPont to court on behalf of the people living next to its plant. By the end you’ll want every Teflon pan out of your kitchen.
In Cincinnati in 1998, Robert Bilott is a lawyer who defends chemical companies. Then Wilbur Tennant, a farmer from Parkersburg, West Virginia, walks into his firm with videotapes of his cows: swollen organs, blackened teeth, tumours. Bilott decides to help, and he sues the chemical giant DuPont, demanding that it hand over its documents.
