Nearly ten years before he made “The Drama” with Pattinson and Zendaya, Kristoffer Borgli debuted with this film based on a true story, in which the controversial performer Amir Asgharnejad plays himself. Half of what you see really happened. The question is which half.
A performer goes around Oslo picking fights with nightclub bouncers and letting them beat him up, filming every moment, though each fight is staged from start to finish. The footage reaches a Los Angeles advertising agency that is looking for the face of an energy drink campaign, and over there nobody has any reason to doubt what they see. Amir Asgharnejad gets the contract, and the agency has no idea who it has just hired.
