In Tbilisi nobody bats an eye at three generations sharing one flat, but a woman of fifty with a place of her own is another matter. Her brother, her son and her mother take turns coming round to talk her into moving back home. They all mean well, but she needs a room of her own.
Seven people share one flat in Tbilisi: Manana, a literature teacher, her husband Soso, her parents, her grown-up children and her son-in-law. Manana asks for nobody to come to her birthday, and a crowd of guests turns up anyway. A few days later she rents an empty flat on the other side of town and starts carrying her books over.
