Synopsis

Lena arrives from Poland seven months pregnant, planning to sell her baby in Italy and start over. Ermanno’s uncle and his wife can’t have children, so the plan is for Ermanno to sign as the father and let the authorities treat it as an adoption within the family. Until the birth, Lena and Ermanno live together, while he spends his days at the slot machines.
