Why we chose it

James Baldwin’s fiery words, more necessary and relevant than ever, come to life in a fascinating documentary that made it all the way to the Oscars and unearths the roots of racial discrimination in a country that seems doomed to repeating its mistakes.

Synopsis

Author and activist James Baldwin’s unfinished project on the lives and works of three murdered Black leaders of the civil rights movement (Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr.) provides the starting point for a broader reflection on the roots of racism in America.
