Why we chose it

When the subject of a documentary is so interesting, its form does not need to be original. Simple in structure but perfectly satisfying in content, Ian McKellen's portrait, a course of a fascinating life narrated by himself, puts the A in the word "Artist".

Synopsis

Based on a 14-hour long interview, the film is a unique journey into the important moments of McKellen's life, from early childhood to a demanding career that put him in the spotlight for most of his life.
