Vincenzo runs an old-fashioned bookshop in Paris and raises his daughter alone, until a new neighbour, played by Bérénice Bejo, turns his quiet life upside down. Based on an unmade Ettore Scola screenplay that first became a graphic novel, it’s a charming, theatrical fairy tale of falling in love.
Vincenzo runs a bookshop in Paris and lets his customers walk out with books without paying for them. He lives above the shop with his daughter Albertine, who uses a wheelchair and stopped speaking after an accident. Then one day his neighbour Yolande comes into the bookshop, looking for her missing dog.
