Why we chose it
Pica is a disorder that drives people to eat things that aren’t food. In this thriller the house gleams while the woman who keeps it is close to breaking, and she’ll do anything to feel, even for a moment, that her life is her own. Treated like an object, she starts reaching for objects.
Synopsis
Hunter has married a man with money who barely notices her, and she spends her days making sure everything in their big, beautiful house gleams. When she gets pregnant, her in-laws are thrilled. Then one afternoon she swallows a glass marble and feels a rush she hasn’t felt in a long time, so the next day she goes looking for something else to eat.
