A stern British writer and a free-spirited young Frenchwoman end up sharing a house with a pool in Provence, which is all they have in common. François Ozon builds the tension like Hitchcock, and audiences are still arguing about the final minutes. Just where will the search for inspiration lead?
Sarah Morton is supposed to write crime novels, but she hasn’t managed a single sentence in ages. Her publisher lends her his house in the south of France, which means a few days of pool and peace and quiet, until one evening a young woman walks in, says she’s the publisher’s daughter and starts bringing men home. Sarah puts her manuscript aside and starts watching.
