Alps
- Yorgos Lanthimos
- 2011
- 1h 33m
- Greece, USA, France, Canada
Operating in a similarly detached universe as the one of "Dogtooth", Yiorgos Lanthimos adds a bit more pop, to create a mind game with intertextual references and painful truths about dealing with death, and about fortifying oneself behind all sorts of roles.
Synopsis
A nurse, a paramedic, a gymnastics athlete and her coach have formed a team. They are hired by friends and relatives of dead people, in order to "replace" them. The team is called the Alps and the paramedic is the leader. The members of the group are obliged to operate according to a set of rules that he has created, but the nurse doesn’t cooperate.
