An almost improbable comic premise transcends its farcical roots to become a deeply tender meditation on responsibility, fatherhood and the unpredictable complexity of human bonds. One of the biggest commercial successes of Canadian cinema, it went on to inspire remakes in both the United States and France.
Synopsis
An irresponsible man in his forties, living in Montreal, discovers that, thanks to the numerous sperm donations he made in his youth, he is the biological father of hundreds of children. When several of them launch legal action to uncover his identity, he is forced to confront the unexpected weight of a fatherhood he never imagined.
