Why we chose it
In years when the distance between cinema and television was much further, Rainer Werner Fassbinder presented a series whose name became a landmark of arthouse TV, if ever there was such a thing, and remains to this day one of the most important works of his very dense filmography.
Synopsis
Berlin, 1928. Franz Biberkopf is released after having spent four years in prison where he was convicted of some murder, and roams Berlin. Determined to start a new life, he counts on the support of some of his own people. But in effect no one can help him.
