Why we chose it
The Norwegian director of "Mirush" in a sensational survival adventure based on a true event of the early 20th century. A story of self-denial that sets mankind against the cruel face of power. Starring the always excellent Stellan Skarsgard.
Synopsis
At the beginning of the 20th century, in an isolated correctional institution on an island in the Norwegian fjords, a group of boys aged 11 to 18 years old experience conditions of extreme violence. The headmaster of the institution and the guards subject them to extreme manual labor and all kinds of humiliation. The arrival of a 17-year-old boy will change things, as his desire to escape will gradually lead him and his fellow prisoners to a violent revolt against the inhuman regime.
