Why we chose it

One of the most important documentaries of the last decade. Awarded in Sundance and nominated for the Oscars, this portrait of masculinity, social class and race in contemporary America manages to amaze and take off. Impressive as a skateboard trick, staggering as a social ethography.

Synopsis

Three young men connect through their love for skateboarding, to escape their unstable family life in a provincial town of Illinois. While facing their adulthood responsibilities, unexpected revelations threaten their long time friendship.
