Why we chose it

Mexican filmmaker Michel Franco continues his incisive exploration of the modern human condition, moral decay, and individual responsibility in a world rife with inequality, through the clinically enigmatic portrait of a man in deep existential fatigue, suspended between desire, guilt, and resignation.

Synopsis

At a luxurious seaside resort in Acapulco, the family tranquility of a wealthy European man is shattered by sudden news of a death. Withdrawn and silent, he chooses never to return and sinks into a purposeless life on the fringes of the city.
