Why we chose it

The twenty-five Colombian teenagers who play child soldiers guarding an American hostage on a mountaintop were picked from eight hundred at the casting. The film took prizes at Sundance and San Sebastián, its score is by Mica Levi (“Under the Skin”), and it plays like a new “Lord of the Flies”.

Synopsis

The teenagers who call themselves Rambo, Lady and the like live as a military unit on a plateau high in the Colombian mountains, with two orders to carry out. They must guard Doctora, an American hostage, and keep Shakira alive, the cow the whole camp depends on. If anything happens to that cow, it’s their heads on the line.
