How does a simple family live against the backdrop of a military conflict? The personal meets the political in a brilliant portrait of the banal horrors of war, in a Ukrainian film that captivated Sundance and Berlin.

Synopsis

The story of a Ukrainian family living on the border of Russia and Ukraine at the beginning of the war. Irka refuses to leave her home even when the village is occupied by the armed forces. They will then find themselves at the centre of an international air disaster on 17 July 2014.
