Between the two Godfathers, Francis Ford Coppola delivered a masterpiece about the years of paranoia and surveillance - evergreen, like the image of the introverted Gene Hackman as a cynic caught in a crisis of conscience. Palme d’Or at Cannes and a defining moment for the 1970s American cinema.

Synopsis

Harry Caul is a lonely man who works in surveillance during an era dominated by conspiracy theories. In essence, he has no personal life. When the director of a multinational company assigns him to record the conversations of a man and a woman, his inner world is thrown into turmoil.
