Death at a Funeral

Why we chose it

Frank Oz breathes new life into the British black comedy with a riotous farce whose breakneck pace conceals razor-sharp observations about family as a machinery of memory, repression and collective hypocrisy.

Synopsis

During the funeral of a British family’s patriarch, relatives gather at a country house to pay their respects and preserve the appearance of a united, respectable clan. Almost immediately, however, the carefully staged ceremony begins to fall apart.
