Synopsis

On the eve of the French Revolution, gastronomy in France is the exclusive domain of the aristocracy. When the highly skilled chef Manceran is dismissed for serving a dish his master did not approve, he resolves to strike out on his own, opening the very first restaurant to offer gourmet cuisine to people of the lower classes.
