Synopsis

Beginning with the attempted coup of 23 February 1981, the series reconstructs one of the defining moments in modern Spanish history. When Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Tejero storms Parliament with armed Civil Guards, only three men refuse to take cover: Prime Minister Adolfo Suárez, Communist leader Santiago Carrillo, and General Manuel Gutiérrez Mellado. Through their stories and those of the coup's architects the series vividly recreates the dramatic events that reshaped Spain.
