Todd Solondz, landmark-director of ‘90s indie cinema (“Welcome to the Dollhouse”, “Happiness”), is inspired by Bresson’s “Au Hassard Balthazar” and brings together an impressive cast (Ellen Burstyn, Danny DeVito, Greta Gerwig, Julie Delpy) in a riveting existential comedy.
Synopsis
A cute wiener-dog impacts the lives of multiple dysfunctional people as it becomes enmeshed in the everyday lives of a series of oddball owners, including two couples, a veterinary nurse, a screenwriter, and a bitter woman.
