Jaco Van Dormael (“The Brand New Testament”) puts two men on the road together. One of them, Pascal Duquenne, has Down syndrome, and the acting prize he shared at Cannes with Daniel Auteuil was a first in the festival’s history. On the eighth day, God created Georges to bring the world joy.
Harry has a good job and, when it comes down to it, nothing else: his wife has left him and his daughters won’t open the door to him. Georges, who has Down syndrome, lives in a care home until one day he simply walks out. Then Harry runs over a dog, Georges climbs into his car, and he has no intention of getting out.
