Paul Verhofen's return to Europe, after a 20-year stint in Hollywood, came with a stunning spy thriller set against the backdrop of World War II, conquerors, resistance fighters and traitors. And, of course, the director's unique craftsmanship.
Synopsis
The film tells the story of Rachel Stein at the end of the Second World War. Rachel is a Jewish singer who lived in Berlin before the war and who was forced into hiding by the Nazi regime in occupied Holland. She works with members of the Dutch Resistance and fights tooth and nail to track down the man who wiped out her family, who betrayed Jews to extract their valuables.
