An unknown, dark and shameful aspect of European history is brought to light in a film of epic intentions and dimensions about a father's struggle to discover the fate of his children and to get justice, with another stirring performance by a thunderous Franz Rogowski.
Synopsis
An itinerant artist wanders with his family from village to village struggling to survive. He belongs to the Genis, a nomadic ethnic minority in Central Europe. He is called to fight against the Nazis, but on his return he learns that his wife has been murdered and that his children have been kidnapped by the authorities in order to be 'reformed'. The search for them will become the purpose of his life.
