James McAvoy’s and Alicia Vikander’s excellent camera presence multiplies through Wim Wenders’s lens, with the latter’s romantic soul diving into a set of contemporary political symbolisms that ideally frame a powerful love story.
Synopsis
In a windowless room on the eastern coast of Africa, a man is held captive. Thousands of miles away, in the Greenland Sea, a woman is preparing to dive into the bottom of the ocean. In their confines their thoughts roam back to last year, where they fell in love after encountering each other by chance on a beach in France.
