Life within the stifling confines of a hotel, where the only hope for the future is, simply, to climb higher. The debut feature from Lila Avilés ("Totem"), one of the most promising voices in new world cinema, is a detailed social drama through the eyes of a tenacious heroine.
Eva works long hours as a maid in a luxury hotel in Mexico City. A young, single mother who travels far to get to her place of work, Eva has ambitions for the future and hopes that her dedication will bring her a coveted position as a housekeeper on the most luxurious floor. She enrolls in an adult education program, but quickly discovers that it's not necessarily the hardest working ones who get ahead.
