Why we chose it

Turn it up. Mia Hansen-Løve wrote this story of the French electronic music scene with her brother, the DJ its hero is based on, and once Daft Punk let her have their music for the minimum fee, the other acts followed. It’s about a generation that keeps dancing even after the music dies down.

Synopsis

French house is only just getting going in 1990s Paris, and Paul, a teenager with a bag full of records, is playing his first sets in basements. He and his best friend start a duo called Cheers and find a crowd almost straight away. From then on, the nights only get longer.
