Synopsis
In 1950s England, 45 year old Vera Drake, a simple and goodhearted woman that works as a cleaner, conceals from her family that she performs illegal abortions, something she considers the humane thing to do for the unfortunate girls, and for which she’s not getting paid. But when one of her patients has post-surgery complications, Vera’s work will be revealed and she will face the law, society and her family.
