How many documentaries have you seen on Greek radio? Using the history of Jazz fm - Athens as a vehicle, Meletis Moiras explores how a radio station changed the cultural fabric of a city in the 90s.
Synopsis
When Jazz fm began, in 1991, the radio consisted of emotions and people with dreams instead of playlists and "ethereal" voices. It slowly began to air every night from 00:00 to 04:00 and after a year it was on air 24 hours a day. Jazz fm influenced the musicians, the venues that hosted them, the Greek jazz production, the press magazine and the conservatories. Diamonds in the Night Sky talks about the vision of 5-6 people who became part of thousands of peoples’ everyday life for 5.5 years.
