Beauty and terror in one crushing result in the form of a slow-burn thriller that won Audience and Screenplay awards at Sundance Festival. One of the best films in years about the humanitarian crisis on the US-Mexico border.
Synopsis
Middle-aged Magdalena lost touch with her son when he crossed the US border hoping to find work. Desperate to find out what happened to him - and if he's still alive - she embarks on an ever-widening and increasingly dangerous journey to discover the truth. At the same time, a young man named Miguel has returned to Mexico after being deported from the US and his path converges with that of Magdalena.
