The film that changed and redefined the rules for depicting a robbery on screen, popularized the term “rififi” for dozens of real-life heists, and remains thrilling to this day - especially in its nighttime execution sequence. A landmark in the career of Jules Dassin, and in the film noir genre as a whole.

Synopsis

A burglar is released from prison and agrees to his young protégé’s proposal for a quick strike on a famous jewelry store—on one condition: they leave nothing behind. With a meticulous plan and the help of a master safe-cracker, their chances of success are high. But pulling off the heist may be the easy part; they still have to escape, find fences, stay out of sight, and above all, keep their past from catching up with them.
