A humorous and poignant greek-Italian documentary that discretely and gently examines the daily routines of bathers, while genuinely raising vital questions about borders and discrimination, about what separates and what unites us, and about the tragicomedy of human nature.

Synopsis

This documentary illustrates the microcosm of a beach in Trieste, during all four seasons of the year. The official name of the beach is "La Lanterna", but everyone calls it "Pedochin". A wall delineates the separate spaces for women and men, while the sea both divides and unites Italians and Serbians, Greeks and Slovenians, Jews and Germans, Austrians and Americans. At the same time, it is the last refuge for the people who spend a big part of their lives there.
