Why we chose it

Years before the film won five Oscars, the secret police in Prague seized the copy of Ken Kesey’s novel that Kirk Douglas sent to Miloš Forman. Jack Nicholson lands on a locked psychiatric ward where nobody argues with the head nurse, so he does, and freedom costs more than anything else in there.

Synopsis

Sent from prison to a psychiatric hospital for observation, McMurphy finds a ward run by Nurse Ratched, whose rules bind everyone without exception and which the patients stopped questioning long ago. He questions them on his very first afternoon, and the battle he starts will change everything around him.
