A fascinating “what-if” story, coming out of an almost childish revenge plan in one of the most beloved European films of the ‘90s. A Golden Camera Award at Cannes, for Jaco Van Dormael’s (The Brand New Testament) debut film.

Synopsis

Thomas and Alfred were born at exactly the same moment. A fire at the maternity ward had nurses run to save them. Growing up, Thomas believes he should have had Alfred’s luck to be raised by a rich family, and obsesses over the idea that they were switched at birth. His own misery must belong to Alfred, whether that is the death of his sister as well as his failure to date madame Evelyn. So, he comes up with a plan to get revenge.
