Purpose and scope

These Terms govern the purchase, delivery, redemption and use of Cinobo Gift Cards.

A Gift Card is an electronic card that provides access to a Cinobo subscription for the period selected by the purchaser. It is not stored money or a fixed monetary balance.

These Terms supplement the Cinobo Terms and Conditions, which govern the Cinobo account, subscription, use of the Service, renewal, cancellation, suspension, termination, withdrawal rights, liability, complaints, governing law and consumer rights. If the documents conflict in relation to the purchase, delivery, redemption or use of a Gift Card, these Terms prevail.

By purchasing or redeeming a Gift Card, you agree to these Terms. Use of the Cinobo subscription is also governed by the Cinobo Terms and Conditions.

Capitalised terms not defined in these Terms have the meanings given to them in the Cinobo Terms and Conditions or, where relevant, the Cinobo General Promotional Terms.

Purchasing a Gift Card

A Gift Card may be purchased for the purchaser or sent to another person designated by the purchaser.

Before completing the purchase, the checkout displays:

  • the selected Gift Card period;
  • the total purchase price;
  • the recipient and delivery information provided by the purchaser; and
  • other material restrictions.

These details are also provided in the purchase confirmation.

Availability and eligibility

Gift Cards are available only in countries in which Cinobo offers them. A Gift Card is issued for the Cinobo market through which it is purchased and may be redeemed only through an eligible Cinobo account in that market. If you are unsure which market applies, please contact Cinobo at support@cinobo.com before purchasing.

To redeem a Gift Card, the recipient must have or create an eligible Cinobo account and accept the Cinobo Terms and Conditions.

Delivery and recipient information

The purchaser is responsible for providing complete and accurate recipient and delivery information.

If incorrect information is provided, the purchaser should contact Cinobo promptly. Cinobo may take reasonable steps to correct the delivery information before redemption but cannot guarantee that a Gift Card already delivered or redeemed can be recovered.

Gift Card codes

Each Gift Card contains a unique code. Until redemption, the code is not linked to a specific Cinobo account. The purchaser and recipient are responsible for keeping it confidential.

Once redeemed, the Gift Card is linked to the account through which it was redeemed and cannot be transferred to another account.

Cinobo may rely on the first valid redemption of the code. This does not apply where Cinobo:

  • was notified before redemption of a delivery error or suspected misuse; or
  • has reasonable grounds to believe that the redemption was unauthorised.

Redemption and Gift Card period

A Gift Card must be redeemed through an eligible Cinobo account using the method described in the redemption information or Help Center.

Before activation, Cinobo informs the recipient when the Gift Card period begins and how it applies to any existing subscription, promotional period or free trial associated with the account.

The Gift Card period runs continuously from activation and cannot be paused or divided into separate periods.

Certain Gift Cards, Promotions and other promotional benefits cannot be combined. Applying a Gift Card while another Gift Card, a Subscription Promotion or another promotional benefit is active may replace the existing benefit, and any unused promotional period may be lost. Before applying a Gift Card, check the Help Center to confirm whether it can be combined with an existing offer and how to apply it correctly. Please also check the Cinobo General Promotional Terms if another Promotion or promotional benefit applies.

Subscription charges and continuation

The Gift Card covers the subscription price for the period selected by the purchaser. No subscription payment is charged for the period covered by the Gift Card.

After the Gift Card period ends, the subscription continues automatically at the applicable price and billing frequency if the account holder has provided a valid payment method. If no valid payment method has been provided, the account holder is prompted to add one in order to continue the subscription. The applicable price and billing frequency are displayed before the payment method is provided.

Cancellation

Cancelling a subscription prevents future renewal and charges. If you cancel during a Gift Card period, your subscription and access continue until the end of the current billing period. Any unused part of the Gift Card period after that billing period is forfeited.

Exchanges and refunds

A Gift Card cannot be exchanged for cash, another Gift Card or another benefit.

Gift Cards are not refundable except where required by applicable law.

Lost, incorrectly delivered or misused codes

Cinobo is not required to replace a Gift Card or provide an alternative benefit where the code is lost, disclosed, delivered to incorrect recipient details or used without authority because of an act or omission of the purchaser or recipient.

This limitation does not apply where the Gift Card was invalid when issued, was not delivered despite the purchaser providing correct recipient information, or cannot be redeemed solely because of a technical error attributable to Cinobo.
