Synopsis
Upon her arrival in Athens in 1937, the young Kalogeropoulou was first introduced as Mary to her classmates at the National Conservatory, but she signed her first contract with the National Opera as Marianna. In March 1945 she appears in concert as Mary Callas, shortly before becoming famous across the globe as Maria Callas. The documentary focuses on the period of her personal and artistic coming of age in Athens, from 1937 to 1945, and the years after 1957, when she reconnected with Greece.
