A fascinating biopic that sheds light on significant historical events with profound respect for both facts and people. Cumberbatch is magnificent in the role of the genius destroyed by the same society that he faithfully served, while the film won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Synopsis
British mathematician, cryptographer and pioneer Alan Turing decrypted the Nazi Enigma code and, despite his epic achievement, was prosecuted for his homosexuality. With the outbreak of the war, Turing becomes a member of a team of British scientists that try to break the German communications code. When Churchill puts him in charge of the team, the pressure to deliver is immense. He needs to produce results quickly, but the task at hand is almost impossible.
